Dr Sophie Bostock founded The Sleep Scientist to help people sleep better, wake up refreshed, and thrive. A notable scientist and speaker, Sophie combines her passion for wellbeing with a proactive approach. Her academic journey includes a medical degree from Nottingham University, an MSc in Entrepreneurship, and a PhD in Health Psychology from UCL. Her research emphasized the critical role of sleep in mental and physical resilience.
Sophie was integral to Sleepio, Big Health's acclaimed digital sleep program, serving as a research scientist and UK Innovation Lead. She was awarded an NHS Innovation Accelerator Fellowship in 2016, promoting free access to Sleepio across the NHS.
Sophie is dedicated to raising funds for the British Heart Foundation by rowing around Britain and competing in events like the World Coastal Rowing Championships. With plans to row across the Atlantic in 2026, she juggles various sports with providing keynote talks, consultancy and coaching to enhance sleep and wellbeing.
