From magnesium water to electrolytes, soluble tablets and gels, there are lots of ways to replenish and refresh as you work up a sweat. We ask our in-house nutritionist how it all works...
Most of us know that staying hydrated contributes to our overall wellbeing. Water helps us to regulate our temperature, delivers nutrients to cells and supports the normal functioning of our organs.1 What you may not know is that staying hydrated during an intensive workout isn't always that simple.
When you sweat, you also lose electrolytes (essential minerals in your sweat), 2 meaning that these too need to be replaced. Our nutritionist, Leila Weller-Kis, points out “electrolytes help distribute more water in the body, by helping balance the water to make sure it gets everywhere it's needed”.
We’ve pulled together a list of our favourite products, which can quench your thirst when taken with water, support your energy levels or generally keep you feeling good for those intense gym sessions or endurance exercise. You’ll discover why we love them, what they do and their benefits for fuelling workouts.
The final say
Hydration plays a significant role in maintaining overall wellbeing, while energy sources can also have you feeling ready to do another round in the gym (or lap around the park).
